Brenon, Dale R. age 65 (currently of Overland Park KS, formerly of Milwaukee, WI), passed away surrounded by family and friends December 23, 2018 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, WI, due to his long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born July 26, 1953 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin raised by his mother Carolyn E. (Scott) Brenon. He married the love of his life, Irene (Zimmer) Brenon, in April of 2003. Dale was known for his humor, boisterous laughter and Irish stubbornness. He was a graduate of Oostburg High School in 1972 and 1975 graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College Police Science program. He was no stranger to the softball fields growing up with his many friends in Sheboygan, especially his good friend Larry "Schnookie" Schneider. In 1975, he began his public service career as an officer at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. It was at UWM that he was promoted to Sergeant where he trained many future police officers and served as Shift Commander on third shift. Dale formally retired in July of 2003 capping many years of service dedicated to helping others. Dale served on the boards of numerous organizations, including Irish Cultural Heritage Center, Shamrock Club, and one of the founding members of the Emerald Society to name a few. He was an active member of the Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus (Overland Park KS) rising to the level of Fourth Degree, member of Holy Spirit Men of Faith and Spirit, Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officers (WLEO), Big Brother for the Sheboygan Area Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization, a Stephen Minister Leader and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Irene (Zimmer) Brenon, sisters Mickey (Bob) Lytle and Peggy Brenon of Denver, CO, and Connie (Paul) Bamberger of Grafton, WI, step-daughters Kristyn (Mike) Eitel of Milwaukee, WI and Erin (Art) Adams of Howard, WI. Grandchildren Grace St. Denis, Liam St. Denis, Arthur Adams V and Owen Adams and step-grandchildren Samara Eitel and Rana Eitel, brother and sister-in-laws, Ray and Bonney Zimmer, Fond du Lac, WI, Geraldine and Dennis Bartoli, Campbellsport, WI, Tom and Sue Zimmer, Libertyville, IL and Helen and Dan Lauters, Kewaskum, WI. Preceding him to heaven were his mother Carolyn, and several cousins. All of these people he loved and touched deeply. A Celebration of Dale's life will be held at noon, on Saturday, December 29, at the Irish Cultural and Heritage Center, 2133 W Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53233, with Father Ralph Gross officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10am-12pm. Memorial donations in memory of Dale can be made to any of the following: Diocese of Jueicalpa - Bishop Muldoon's Honduras Clean Water Project, any local Salvation Army and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sheboygan County.
